Mangalore: Ship Sinks, Crew Rescued by Boat

Mangalore, Apr 23: Seven crew members were rescued from a sinking ship by a boat off the Mangalore coast here on Sunday April 22 night.

The ship, named 'Hanavunda', sank 70 miles off the Mangalore coast.

'Goodwill' a boat spotted the sinking ship and rushed to rescue the crew. All seven including the captain were brought back to the shore safely.

The cargo vessel was carrying cement and stones to Lakshadweep.

Though the incident took place on Sunday, it came to light on Monday.

The ship belonged to a Gujrati but was being operated from Bunder here by Ibrahim.
