Mangalore: Porngate - Palemar Accuses TV Channel of Slander, Approaches Court

Mangalore, Apr 19: Former minister, Krishna J Palemar, had filed a complaint in a local court against Suvarna news channel, accusing the channel of purposefully engaging in slanderous campaign against him, and beaming obscene videos. The second JMFC court here, which went through the complaint, has ordered Bunder police station here to register the complaint.
Based on the instructions of court, a criminal case stands registered against the said television news channel at Bunder police station.
Palemar opines that the channel in question had committed crime under Information Technology Act. He says that he had to lose his ministerial position, and that the people got wrong notion about him, because of airing of false report by the channel.
The complaint seeks redressal for injustice suffered by the former minister on account of the above report. Advocate, P P Hegde, had appeared in the court on behalf of Palemar and put forth arguments in favour of the complainant.
