Counting of Votes in MCD Polls Begins


New Delhi, Apr 17 (IANS): Counting of votes in the Delhi municipal elections began here at 8 a.m., and the fate 2,423 candidates will be out in a few hours from now.

The Delhi State Election Commission has set up counting centres at 32 places across the city for counting of votes for the recently trifurcated Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls.

The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress will keep a close watch on the counting of votes which will decide who will rule the three corporations.

The polls were held Sunday in which 55 percent voter turnout was registered.
