China Seizes Over 33,000 Illegal Drug Ads


Beijing, Apr 17 (IANS): China's food and drug safety watchdog said Monday it has found 33,648 illegal commercial advertisements for drugs this year till March.

It included release of advertisements without prior approval from local food and drug authorities and making material changes to the approved content, said the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA).

The illegal advertisements were referred to market supervisory authorities for investigations and further procedures, Xinhua reported.

It also mentioned the discovery of 3,239 illegal advertisements for medical instruments and 6,551 advertisements for health supplements.
