Mangalore: 18 Cattle Killed, One Person Injured as Transport Vehicle Overturns

Mangalore, Apr 7: In new information coming in regarding the accident at Kottara on Saturday April 7 that killed 18 cattle, it is now confirmed that one person was injured and two managed to escape from the spot.
Sources said that Bajrang Dal activists, on receiving prior information on the cattle trafficking, chased the vehicle from Panambur, and forcibly stopped it at Kottara. The driver of the vehicle, in a bid to escape, took reverse and hit a mound of mud on the road side and lost control, resulting in the vehicle turning over.
Two of three people in it managed to escape, while the injured man remained inside.

As many as 18 cattle were killed and two persons injured after a vehicle transporting the cattle overturned at Kottara here on Saturday April 7.
It is said that the cattle were being illegally taken from Jokatte to Central Market.
Sources said that the vehicle was being chased by Bajrang Dal activists, and turned turtle after the driver lost control due to high speed.
It may be recalled that on April 5, a group of Bajrang Dal activists had stopped a vehicle carrying cattle. The persons involved in it had fled the place and the cattle were handed over to the police.
