Riyadh, March 27: India Fraternity Forum – Riyadh chapter organized annual sports meet under “Happy Life Healthy Life” drive recently at a Sports Club in Aziziah, here.
Objective of this programme was to edify IFF members about the value of healthy and happy living. Approximately 200 applicants from Riyadh region witnessed and participated in the events. Contestants are hailed from various districts of Karnataka state.
IFF Riyadh Karnataka secretary Haris sowkar welcomed the guests. Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Nasar Thumbe, president of IFF Riyadh – Karnataka Chapter emphasized the significance of maintaining healthy and happy life. He also advised to utilize youth power to build an ethic and peaceful society and bring unity in the community.
Chief guests Janab Jalaluddin from Kerala and Janab Faizuddin from Tamil Nadu were present on the dais. Janab Jaluuddin while addressing the gathering, said, regular exercises have a big roll in preventing health troubles. Also, he advised that being health conscious is one of the teachings of Islam that everyone should follow in the society without age barricades.
Janab Faizuddin greeted every participant and said that routine sports will keep away diseases such as diabetes and cholesterol. All the sports competitions were held in between four squads which were divided into four colours.
The events began with an eye-catching march-past by the teams which were led by Raheem Surathkal, chief coach for IFF – Riyadh, Karnataka Chapter. Competition was in various type of sports like volleyball, kabaddi, tug-of-war, circle, sack jumping and three-legged race etc.
In the end of the events, all the winners were awarded medals and trophies for their individual and group performances by Jnab Saleem Moulvi – Kerala. The programme was organized by Abdul Aziz – Surathkal and concluded by Usman Kunjattoor. IFF Riyadh coordinator Naushad Katipalla proposed the vote of thanks.
