Mangalore, Mar 14: Relating to a recent theft at a mobile shop in Bajpe near here, the police have arrested a person said to be an inter-state thief, from Gadag. The police said they have solved the case of the said theft as well as several other thefts in the state and Goa.
Suresh (30) from Kalasapura in Gadag, was arrested in this connection, and produced in a court here on Tuesday. He reportedly faces several cases of thefts in the state as well as Goa.
Suresh had entered ‘Mobile Lab’, a shop in Bajpe dealing in mobile phones and accessories, on Fehruary 14 this year, and had stolen 22 mobile phones, a laptop, recharge coupons, memory cards, pen drives etc. The value of the stolen items had been estimated to be Rs 1.5 lac. The police have seized the stolen items from Suresh’s possession.
The investigation team was led by Bajpe inspector, Dinakar Shetty, and assistant sub-inspectors, Shankar Nairy and Seetaram, under the directions of city police commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh, deputy police commissioners, Mutturaya and Dharmaiah, in cooperation with assistant commissioner of police, Puttamadaiah.
