Mangalore, Mar 13: ‘Insignia-2012’, national level management fest, is scheduled to be held on March 15 and 16 by St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), Beeri, here.
The two day management fest will be inaugurated on Thursday March 15, at AIMIT, Beeri campus by Vishal Hegde, trustee, NITTE Education Trust. The valedictory ceremony will be presided over by Walter D’Souza, chairman, FIEO (SR), on March 16 evening.
The theme for the fest is “The Blue Oceanic Quest-A Journey beyond Imagination”.
The prime objective of Insignia-2012 is to help management students to look at the blue-oceans such as markets, products, ideas that are unexplored rather than fight for a small share in the red-competitive-oceans. The key to achieve these blue-oceans can only be thinking creatively, innovatively, and thinking out of the box. Fashion-management institutes for this learning-enriching experience are also included, besides MBA/PG programmes in business.
As many as 20 management and fashion institutes are expected to participate in this event, each team to consisting of 12 participants. The registration fee per team will be Rs 3000 inclusive of food and accommodation, and to and fro transportation expenses between AIMIT and Mangalore. The performance of the participants will be evaluated by some of the industry-professionals, academicians, researchers and internal teaching faculty.
The learning-extravaganza will be conducted in an environment of complete fun and freedom, in the form of seven different events, all first of their kinds. These events are: The best chief minister (the pole star), AIMIT village (renaissance), catastrophic healthcare management (forsikring), sports management (athena), fashion and entertainment (festejo), eco management (sattva) and personal investment planning (aumentar).
All these events will have multiple engrossing, compelling and engaging rounds with increasing levels of complexity. The events will be conducted in the vast 17 acre campus and also around the locality, adding maximum punch of practicality to them. The final round, a complete integration one, will be conducted in the college auditorium by 2.30 pm on March 16.
A mega cultural evening will be organized on March 15 starting 6 pm. It will feature a fashion show by the participants, musical, dance, skit performance and finally a band-performance by the students of St Aloysius College, MBA.
This journey of learning, fun and freedom commenced with two entertaining flash mob performances by the students, teaching faculty and the director, AIMIT himself. The performances took place at City Centre and Bharath Mall at 5.30 pm and 6 pm respectively.
