Mangalore, Mar 10: An impressive programme of honouring the achievers of zonal, state and national level winners in sports and games was held at Sacred Heart High School, Kulshekar auditorium on Friday March 9, 2012.
Over 20 players and athletes along with their parents were welcomed with the school band accompanied by the dignitaries, Sr Rose Celine, secretary of Bethany Educational Society, M N Naik, district physical education director and Mariamma Thomas, the corporator.
Mariamma Thomas honored the zonal level winners of football and netball players. She appreciated their efforts and congratulated them for their wonderful performance in sports and academics as well.
Satyavathi, the vice president of PTA, honored the blooming talent of Sacred Heart, Prathiksha of 8th class, bharathanatyam dance performer at national level and wished her well on her performance at USA in the month of April 2012.
M N Naik, who honored the state level winners, recognized the constant efforts of the players to rise high and bring laurels to the institute, state and nation. He also said that a person good at sports must have patience and apply the right technique which will lead to success in all the spheres of their life. He congratulated the management and thanked everyone who supported the students.
Sr Rose Celine, secretary of Bethany Educational Society honored the national level participants and winners. She congratulated and encouraged the students to dream high and work hard towards realizing them. Recognizing the wholehearted cooperation and support of the department towards the sports activities of Sacred Heart High School, she honoured M N Naik and thanked him on behalf of the management.
Flavia Pais who was the guiding force of all the sports activities of the school was congratulated, thanked and honoured for her hard work and tireless service to the institute. Sr Cicilia Mendoca the headmistress, through her dynamic leadership and vision was responsible for the success stories of the school. She was thanked and honoured by the president and the guests of the day.
Sr Marie Lyta, the correspondent of the school expressed deep gratitude for the success achieved by the school through the organized efforts of the staff, students and parents. Satyavathi, vice president of PTA and Sr Lisa, the superior of the convent graced the function with their presence.
