Mangalore, Mar 10: Both Chandravathi, who is charged with murdering her husband Ashok, and her daughter Ashwini, who reportedly helped her mother in disposing off Ashok’s body, were remanded to 15 days judicial custody by the court.
It is said that Satish, who had differences with his elder brother Ashok, had started to frequently meet Chandravathi after Ashok’s death. Some locals said that relationship between Satish and Chandravati had gone sour of late, and suspect that Satish had tipped off the policemen about the gruesome murder.
Interestingly, the lady had complained to media about the inefficacy of the policemen in finding out her missing husband, after the policemen failed to show progress in the missing complaint filed by her even after lapse of considerable period.
While Chandravathi claims that she had taken this extreme step because of the physical and mental torture inflicted by her husband, the police hope to unearth real reason for the murder through detailed investigation. In the meanwhile, some bones recovered by the policemen, which are claimed to be part of the mortal remains of Ashok, will be sent for DNA test to determine whether it actually belongs to Ashok, it is gathered.
