Panaji, Mar 10: The NXTremers team No- B-45 of Bengaluru consisting of two children of Goan origin Pranav Prabhas, son of Swati Hede and Praghas, and Anuj Tambwekar, son of Shubhangi and Sanjay Tambwekar, won national Champion’s Award at the First Lego League (FLL) championship tournament held in Delhi.

This team will represent India in the ‘FLL World Festival’ to be held in St Louis, Missouri, USA, in the month of April. The NXTremers team was declared winners in the south India regional round held at Bengaluru in which 46 teams participated. NXTremers were declared winners for ‘Best Robot’ performance. In the national level competition, 80 teams from different states took part.

The FLL is most prestigious recognition awarded to the teams that exhibit strength in all FLL areas including core values, teamwork, robot design, robot performance, and research project.

The interesting part about FLL is that it is actually more then building a robot. FLL is a global programme created to get children excited about science and technology; a hands-on programme for children ages 9 to 16.  FLL uses challenges based on real world scientific problems to engage children in research, problem-solving, and engineering. The cornerstone of the programme is its core values which emphasize friendly sportsmanship, learning and community involvement, and gracious professionalism.

FLL is an international competition held in more than 60 countries that evaluates teams on teamwork, research, and presentation on the defined theme and robot design/performance.

The six member team of 6th and 7th grade students from National Public School, Indira Nagar Bengaluru, will now participate in the ‘FLL World Festival’ where at least 85 teams from all over the world take part every year.
