Puttur, Mar 9: Shweta Bhat, a student who reportedly went missing from Indaje near Sulliapadavu in Paduvannur village in the taluk ten days back, presented herself at the local court on Wednesday March 7. She told the court that she was never abducted as reported. “I, on my own will, have loved and married Anil Kumar. I live with him now,” she averred.
Shweta (20), a journalism student of Ujire College, is the daughter of Govind Bhat from Indaje. She had disappeared on February 27. Initially, her father had filed a missing complaint. Later, he complained to Sampya police station, alleging that his daughter had been abducted by a person named Anil Kumar, in connivance with his father, Krishnamurty.
Anil Kumar is an employee of Bangalore-based Britannia Industries. He hails from Doddaballapur. He was present with Shweta when she made statement before the court.
Shweta had loved Anil Kumar, who was her neighbour. As soon as they came to know of the love affair, Shweta’s parents cut short her education, and forced her to stay home. Now, the missing case stands closed with the girl herself asserting that she had left her home on her own accord.
