Sullia, Mar 9: Bullets were fired here on Wednesday March 7 night after two rival groups clashed with each other at Uttambe in Nadugallu, Nalkoor village near Subrahmanya in the taluk over a land dispute. Three fingers of a person named Uttambe Shivaram were severed, and he got admitted into the government hospital here as an inpatient.
Sarfa Chandrashekhar from Kandadka, who allegedly fired the bullets, also has got himself admitted into hospital. Several persons suffered injuries in stone pelting between the two warring groups.
The property of the late Uttambe Mayilappa Gowda had been inherited by his two sons, Rohitashwa, and Sheshappa Gowda. The share which came to Sheshappa Gowda also is being looked after Rohitashwa, as Sheshappa lives in far away Sullia. Sheshappa had sold a part of his property to Kandadka Chandrashekhar from near Guttigar, about four years ago through a sale deed. Rohitashwa, taking objection to selling the family land to an outsider, had filed court case. When Rohitashwa and his family were away to witness a Bhoota Kola on Wednesday night, Chandrashekhar came with his gang and began constructing a shed. After he was told about the development over phone, Rohitaswha rushed to the spot and objected to the action of Chandrashekhar.
The two gangs then fought with each other, physically, and with stones. Chandrashekhar then took out his gun and fired four rounds. Shivarama Gowda suffered injuries in the firing.
Cases were registered against both the groups in Subrahanya police station. Four vehicles, gun, and construction equipments were confiscated in this connection.
