Mangalore, Mar 9: On the occasion of the silver jubilee year of the department of computer science of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), application and animation will be organising a state level seminar on “Recent Developments in Information Technology”, which will throw light into the various developments in the different areas of Information Technology. The Seminar will be held on Saturday March 10 at Eric Mathias Hall, PG Block of the campus.
The inauguration of the seminar is scheduled to be held at 9 am by Dr Manjaiah D H, professor and chairman, department of computer science, Mangalore University who will also deliver the keynote address. Fr Swebert D’Silva SJ, principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) will preside over the seminar. Dr AM Narahari, registrar of the college, prof Ronald Pinto, vice principal, Xavier Block and the convener assistant prof Ashok M Prasad, dean and head of the department of computer science, application and animation will be present on the dais.
The sessions scheduled for the day are “Glimpse of linux environment technology” (keynote address) by Dr Manjaiah D H, “Issues and challenges in wireless sensor networks” by associate prof Jeevan Pinto, head of the department of MCA, Srinivas Institute of Technology,
Pandeshwar, “Cloud infrastructure management and service management” by assistant prof Manjunath Kotari, department of computer science and engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, Karkala, “The power of big data” by prof Santosh Rebello, dean and chairman, post graduation department of MCA, MS, MSc, AIMIT.
The valedictory function will be held at 4.30 pm where Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, director, AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Beeri will be the chief guest, while Judith Pinto, vice principal, administrative block, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) will preside over. The convenor, assistant prof Ashok M Prasad, dean and head of department of computer science, application and animation will also be present on the dais.
