Kundapur, Mar 8: "The present scenario in the state can be transformed into a play titled ‘Gowda Unyielding, BSY Uncompromising’", said union minister for corporate affairs, M Veerappa Moily. He was addressing an electioneering meeting held at Koteshwar near here on Wednesday March 7.
“It is a musical chair now. In a hurry, Yeddyurappa handed over his chair to Sadananda Gowda, before going to jail. Yeddyurappa is demanding his seat back, but Gowda is not willing to leave it,” he ridiculed.
He accused the BJP leaders of amassing wealth by engaging in illegal mining, and now proceeding to gobble up forests. “Forest minister, C P Yogeshwar, will soon land himself in jail. The state government, which is engaged in corruption, scams, incidents of insulting women, and showing disrespect to legislature, is unfit to survive. We need a person like Congress candidate, K Jayaprakash Hegde, who is of unquestionable character. The voters here have got a golden chance to elect an able candidate,” he felt.
Former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, R V Deshpande, said that the BJP has revealed its true colours now. “The BJP leaders said theirs was a party with a difference. Now it has made Karnataka a laughing stock all over the country. There is a need to cut the BJP to size, as it has crossed all limits. The electorate has got a chance to teach them a lesson,” he said.
District Congress president, K Gopal Poojary, presided. Bhatkal MLA, J D Naik, Congress leaders, D R Patil, G T Patil, Nanjayyanamatha, mother of sandalwood actress Ramya, Ranjeeta, and various other leaders were present.
