Puttur: Sub-inspector Files Revolver Missing Complaint After 37 Days

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Feb 29: A police sub-inspector (PSI) belonging to highway patrol squad reported that his service revolver had gone missing, after 37 days.

Service revolvers are issued to authorized police personnel by the department, and it is the responsibility of the officers concerned to safekeep them properly and guard against their misuse by other persons.

M N Rao, PSI of the said squad, had been deputed to oversee law and order during Hindu Samajotsava held at Uppinangady on January 22. It is learnt that his service revolver was lost when he was staying in a lodge here during his visit here.

On the basis of a complaint now filed, a case was registered in Uppinangady police station. However, the yawning gap between the time it went missing and the time complaint is lodged, is sure to make its detection more difficult.
