'Rango' Named Best Animated Feature Film at Oscars


Los Angeles, Feb 27 (IANS): "Rango", a movie about a chameleon, won the best animated feature film trophy at the 84th Academy Awards ceremony here.

The movie, directed by Gore Verbinski, is an ordinary chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town of Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff. It has the voices of Johnny Depp and Isla Fisher among other actors.

"Rango" was chosen over other nominees in the category including "A Cat In Paris", "Chico & Rita", "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Puss In Boots".
