Kasargod, Feb 16: Police have arrested three persons, who they claim to be members of an organized inter-state gang of notorious thieves, from Talassery. They also recovered knives, hacksaw blades, etc from their possession. The names of the arrested persons are, Devadas from Palakkad, and Girish and Razak from Panoor.
Devadas and Girish, who used to work in a unit engaged in prepararing bakery items in Bangalore, had recently shifted their base to Kozhikode. They had stolen a motor bike from the compound of medical college there. Razak from Kozhikode had extended help to them in this theft. The police said that the accused had planned to steal money and valuables from various finance companies in the state.
The name of Devadas is also associated with ganja trafficking, and poisonous liquor case, apart from a case in Bangalore, where an attempt to kill a motor cyclist was made, the police claim.
The police said they are trying to extract from the arrested persons, names and other details about the other members of the gang.
