Tehran, Jan 11: In a strategic move to bolster its defence system, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) chief commander, major general Hossein Salami, announced plans to unveil several new facilities dedicated to missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Speaking on Friday, major general Salami declared, “Soon, new missile and drone cities will be unveiled, and you will bear witness to the grandeur and profundity of Iran’s hidden power.”
Highlighting the nation’s advancements, Salami stated that Iran has produced significant amounts of advanced military hardware, including missiles, drones, and vessels. "The quantity and quality of production have, at times, exceeded our capacity to store the equipment," he added.

The IRGC commander underscored the Islamic Republic’s unique geopolitical stance, claiming, “Iran is the only country where launching an operation against its enemies strengthens the national currency and brings citizens to the streets in celebration, even in the middle of the night.”

Reaffirming Iran’s self-reliance, Salami emphasized that the nation’s deterrence capabilities are rooted entirely in indigenous resources. “The resolve, decision, capability, and action [that we rely on] are of an entirely Iranian nature,” he said.

These developments align with directives issued by the leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance its military readiness and defence infrastructure.

The announcement reflects Iran’s commitment to strengthening its defence capabilities amidst regional and global tensions, showcasing its evolving military prowess to both domestic and international audiences.
