Udupi: Various B-schools Battle at MIM's 'Kurukshetra' Fest

Udupi, Feb 11: Kurukshetra 2012, the flagship event of Manipal Institute of Management was inaugurated on Friday February 10. Kurukshetra is a two-day annual management fest in which B-schools from various parts of the country compete with a passion to win.
The Kurukshetra-2012 was inaugurated by Shashikanth Jayaraman, head-HR, TVS Automobile Solutions Ltd. Dr Kumkum Garg, director, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University, was the guest of honor. The function was presided over by Prof P Ramakrishna Chadaga, director, Manipal Institute Management.
Rakshit Shetty, the student co-ordinator welcomed the gathering. Prof Yogesh Pai P, chair, Kurukshetra-2012 presented an overview of Kurukshetra-2012. Manorath Rana, the student co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
The two-day festival comprises various events like Parthasarathi - the best CEO, Yakshaprashne – Business Quiz, Chaduranga – Business Plan, Gandeevam – Finance Event, Yuddhabhoomi – IT Event, Mahamantra – Marketing Event, Sandhaana - HR Event, Chakravyuh – Off-Roadies and Kalakshetra – Cultural Event.
Recognizing the need for sensitizing the budding managers on the Corporate Social Responsibility, Kurukshetra-2012 has a CSR round in which the participating teams are required to raise funds for a social cause. The fund collected in the event would be donated to Chetana Special School, Karkala.
Dr Somil Rastogi, State consultant-Karnataka, National Tobacco Control Programme would be addressing the students to spread awareness among students about harmful effects of tobacco.
