Kuwait, Feb 9: Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) under the leadership of Clifford D'souza felicitated Lawrence D'Souza of Caesars Group during a get-together programme on Wednesday February 8 at the Caesars Dakshin Restaurant.
This was also a farewell function for Fr Stany Tauro who would be leaving to Shirva on the February 9.
SWAK had planned to honour Lawrence D'Souza during their parish feast function held on February 3. But due to unavoidable circumstances he was not able to attend the function and hence the felicitation was done on February 8.
During this function Ann, wife of Lawrence D'Souza, and his son Ralph were also present along with all the SWAK committee members.
Nitin Castelinho compered. Fr Stany Tauro conducted the prayer and president Clifford formally welcomed the gathering.
On this occasion all the past presidents of SWAK conducted the traditional honouring of Lawrence D'Souza.
Urban D'Souza read out a list of good works of Lawrence D'souza while Adrian Gomes honoured him with the traditional shawl, Anil Menezes with the traditional headgear, Nitin Castelinho presented a bouquet, Alwyn D'Souza gave a gift and Clifford D'Souza presented the memento.
Fr Stany Tauro honoured him with another shawl on behalf of the Shirva parish.
Acknowledging the honour, Lawrence D'Souza thanked SWAK for the good works which have been carried out over the years.
Fr Stany Tauro in reply thanked Lawrence D'Souza for all his support to the Shirva parish and to the institutions in Shirva. He also thanked SWAK for the support and the invitation extended to him for his visit to Kuwait.
Vice-president Alwyn D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks followed by the grace before meals by Fr Stany Tauro.
A sumptuous buffet was arranged with a wide range of south Indian dishes.
