Bhatkal: Two Killed on Spot in Three-vehicle Collision

Bhatkal, Feb 7: Two people were killed on spot in a serial accident on national highway 17 between Shirali and Murdeshwar near here on Tuesday February 7 morning.
The accident occured at around 5.30 am when a lorry rammed into a government bus and another mini-lorry collided into the lorry from behind. The bus hit an electricity pole by the side of the highway.
The deceased have been identified as Asif (24) and cleaner Arshad (28) who were in the mini-lorry. Mansoor Asif who was driving the mini-lorry escaped.
The Kerala-based mini-lorry was transporting grapes, and was on its way from Bijapur to Kannur in Kerala.
Murdeshwar police have registered a case. Bhatkal DYSP M Narayan and circle inspector Shivprakash visit the spot.
The bodies were shifted to Murdeshwar government hospital, and will be handed over to the families.
