Bhatkal: Two Killed on Spot in Three-vehicle Collision

Bhatkal, Feb 7: Two people were killed on spot in a serial accident on national highway 17 between Shirali and Murdeshwar near here on Tuesday February 7 morning.

The accident occured at around 5.30 am when a lorry rammed into a government bus and another mini-lorry collided into the lorry from behind. The bus hit an electricity pole by the side of the highway.

The deceased have been identified as Asif (24) and cleaner Arshad (28) who were in the mini-lorry. Mansoor Asif who was driving the mini-lorry escaped.

The Kerala-based mini-lorry was transporting grapes, and was on its way from Bijapur to Kannur in Kerala.

Murdeshwar police have registered a case. Bhatkal DYSP M Narayan and circle inspector Shivprakash visit the spot.

The bodies were shifted to Murdeshwar government hospital, and will be handed over to the families.

    whatever accidents occurring on indian roads are murders, not accidents, due to corrupion, reckless driving & no traffic law.

    Nowadays, these accidents are a daily affair due to poor condition of roads, over speeding, and reckless driving!! People have become immune to accident news now. Lots of innocent lives have been lost including entire families!! This stretch from Coondapur to Mangalore can easily vie for the Limca Book of Records for the highest rate of accidents!! Sad state of affairs in our much hyped Kar-Nataka!! May the souls of the deceased RIP!!

    All respect deceased souls, It’s an accident, no one intentionally does it. Don’t always blame negligence of driving. It looks like thick fog has caused invisibility to both drivers behind bus. Bus passengers are lucky to escape by electric shock. Thank God, this would have been fatal if line fell off the bus.

    Its proved that, if you awake whole night your mind gets weary and loses its ability of taking swift decisions later, these drives seems to drive whole night and tiredness at early morning may have led this fatal accident. May their souls rest in peace.

    May the soul rest in peace.Coastal karnataka roads are not safe for the drivers.with huge path holes and narrow lanning drivers should be very carefull while driving specially when it is hard to detect pathholes at night times.Project for broadaning highways is under consideration for years and god knows when it will become a reality.till then drivers are taking risk while driving on existing narrow lane for both way traffic.

    We feel very sad, may their souls rest in peace. Now a days number of accidents only because of not following traffic rules. But this kind of sudden and fatal deaths pitiable.

    IT HAPPENS ONLY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF DRIVING.

    ONE MUST KEEP SAFE DISTANCE

    INDIAN ROADS ARE NOT GOOD TO TAIL TO TAIL DRIVE

    SPEED KILLS

    BE BIT LATE THAN EVER

    RTA SOULD CONDUCT STRICT DRIVING RULE TESTS BEFORE ISSUING ANY LICENSES.
