China’s teen basketball star Yang Hansen declares for NBA draft 2025

Beijing, Apr 26: China’s rising basketball star Yang Hansen has announced his decision to enter the 2025 NBA Draft, calling it the “most important decision” of his life.

The 19-year-old, who stands at 2.18 meters, told Xinhua he is ready to showcase his talent on a bigger stage after gaining valuable experience at the FIBA U19 World Cup and NBA Summer League.

Yang led the Qingdao Eagles to the CBA playoffs quarterfinals this season and thanked his club and fans for their support. He averaged 16.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, three assists, and a league-leading 2.6 blocks per game, earning a CBA All-Star starting spot and a place in the All-CBA Chinese Player First Team.

Earlier this year, Yang signed with Klutch Sports Group, the agency representing NBA stars like LeBron James. He is undergoing advanced training in preparation for the draft.

Yang also impressed in his senior national team debut at the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, scoring 13 points in China’s win over Mongolia.
