Udupi: Roslin Jesintha D’Souza passes II PUC exams with son 25 yrs after completing her SSLC

Udupi, Apr 15: In a rare and heartwarming achievement, a mother and her son from Santoor, Shirva, have both passed the II PUC examinations held in March 2025.

Roslin Jesintha D’Souza, a resident of Santoor, appeared as a private candidate in the arts stream from Kaup Government Pre-University College. She received coaching at My-Tech Tutorial College in Shirva and secured 517 marks out of 600, passing with distinction.

Her son, Jeshton D’Souza, appeared for the examination in the science stream from Nitte College and passed in second class.

Notably, Roslin has passed her II PUC exam 25 years after completing her SSLC. She excelled in Kannada by scoring 99 out of 100, marking a special milestone in her academic journey.

Working in a private institution, Roslin decided to take up the examination to meet promotion criteria at her workplace. Expressing her joy over the result, she said she was happy to have successfully cleared the exam.

Uday Acharya from My-Tech Institute praised her determination, saying that success can be achieved with sheer willpower. Reshma, a Kannada teacher at the institute, said Roslin’s achievement brought immense happiness to the team.
