Ahmedabad, Apr 14: Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, accusing them of spreading misinformation over the Class X board examination results in Gujarat.
The row began after both opposition leaders took to social media platform 'X', citing media reports that allegedly pointed to poor pass percentages in state-run schools. However, the Gujarat education board has not yet declared this year’s results, with the announcement expected only in May.

Responding sharply, Sanghavi termed the opposition leaders ‘fake and fraudulent’, alleging that they were circulating old and fabricated data to mislead the public. He condemned the move as a ‘dirty political game’ that unfairly involved students.
Echoing the sentiment, State education minister Praful Pansheriya urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid falling for misleading claims. He said such tactics were being rejected by voters across the country.
The controversy stems from Akhilesh Yadav's post citing a 2023 headline about zero pass percentages in 157 schools, which Kejriwal further used to target the BJP’s governance model. In their defence, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said the criticism reflected a deeper crisis in the state's education system under BJP rule.
