Chandigarh, Apr 5: Haryana has achieved a major milestone in State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collection, surpassing its annual target and outperforming the national growth rate, Excise and Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said on Friday.

Sharing details, Singh informed that against the budget estimate of Rs 37,498 cr for SGST in the financial year 2024-25, the state collected Rs 39,153 cr, exceeding the target by Rs 1,655 cr. This marks a significant accomplishment for the state’s revenue department.

He stated that Haryana has not only outpaced the national average in GST growth but also set new records during the fiscal year, underscoring the state’s robust economic growth and efficient tax administration system.

As per official figures, Haryana’s total Gross GST collection for March 2025 stood at Rs 10,648 cr, registering a 12 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. The national average growth for March 2025 was recorded at 8.79 per cent, placing Haryana sixth among major states in terms of growth.

For the entire 2024-25 fiscal year, the total Gross GST collection touched Rs 1,19,362 cr, showing a remarkable 16 per cent increase over 2023-24 — the highest among all states and well above the national average of 10 per cent.

The state’s SGST collection before the settlement of Integrated GST (IGST) stood at Rs 23,285 cr, indicating a 15 per cent rise from the previous year, which is the second-highest growth rate among major states. Post-IGST settlement, the SGST collection rose to Rs 39,743 cr, registering a 14 per cent increase, compared to the national growth rate of 11 per cent.

Commissioner Singh credited the achievement to Haryana’s focused approach on tax compliance, transparency, and efficient administration, adding that the state continues to play a significant role in strengthening the national economy.
