BJP accuses Congress government of using Governor’s speech to spread lies

Bengaluru, March 3: The BJP has strongly criticised Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s address to the joint session of the state legislature, accusing the Congress-led government of making him deliver a speech filled with “blatant lies.”

BJP State president B Y Vijayendra, speaking to the media after the Governor's address, said, “Anyone who heard Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s speech will realise that this government has wasted his time. The Congress-led government made the Governor falsely claim that it has succeeded in accelerating the state’s development and strengthening the financial system.”

Vijayendra further criticised the speech for not addressing actual development, stating that it was full of vague statements like “orders are being issued,” “action will be taken,” and “the government intends to.”

He pointed out that nowhere in the speech did the government claim any actions had been taken or development had been ensured.

“The speech had no statistics to back up the claims. Over the last two years, since the Congress government took over, how can it claim to have accelerated growth? The Chief Minister must answer this in the coming days,” he added.

Vijayendra also accused the government of failing to fulfil its promises, particularly regarding subsidies for dairy farming. “The speech mentions subsidies for dairy farming, yet the government has not cleared pending subsidies worth thousands of crores,” he said.

He also questioned the Governor’s claim that Rs 90,000 crore had been spent to maintain regional balance. “How much have they actually allocated for this purpose? What is the actual expenditure incurred in the last two years? They need to provide answers,” he stated.

The BJP leader concluded by stressing that the poor are struggling, and the government's handling of the drought situation remained to be seen.

BJP MLC C.T. Ravi also criticised the Governor’s speech, alleging that the Congress government was spreading lies through the Governor. “Since coming to power, the Congress has increased the prices of 17 essential items, including milk, metro ticket fares, and electricity,” he said.

Ravi also raised concerns about the state’s law and order situation, stating, “A farmer has to pay Rs 3 lakh just to transfer any documents. What does that say about the law and order situation in the state? Everyone knows what’s happening – murders, ATM lootings, gang rapes are occurring daily. Did the Governor mention any of this?”

In contrast, the Governor had praised the state government’s management of law and order, claiming that no serious problems had occurred in the last 19 months.

He also said, “I would like to proudly state that my government has succeeded in accelerating the pace of development of the state and further strengthening the financial system of the government.” The Governor added that, as Mahatma Gandhi said, the government is committed to using governance as an opportunity to “wipe the tears of the last person.”

The Governor’s address was delivered on the first day of the budget session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

Vijayendra knows very well that the BJP govt., in the center makes the President of India to read the speech full of lies and this has has been exposed. Therefore to take revenge, he is claiming that the state govt., too is indulging in such cheap tactics. He has to do something like this and keep speaking against the Cong State Govt., in order to secure his own chair.

Utter desparation is making BJP as laughing stock. BJP is running short of valid or fake accusations against congress. Even the BJP aligned governor is not listening to BJP’s lies and acting on thier silly allegations so as to not make himself as idiot as BJP.
