Udupi, Feb 28: The II PUC examinations are scheduled to begin on March 1 and will continue until March 20. Deputy Commissioner Dr Vidya Kumari confirmed that all necessary measures have been implemented in Udupi district, in line with the directives from the Minister of Education, the Principal Secretary, the Commissioner, and the Department of Education.
A total of 16,203 students will appear for the exams, including 15,685 first-time candidates, 351 private candidates, 163 repeat candidates, and four students sitting for improvement exams.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exams, chief invigilators, assistant invigilators, and exam monitors have been appointed for all colleges. The examinations will take place from 10 am to 1 pm.

The question papers will be opened in the presence of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC), district deputy project officer (DDPU), and college principals. Additionally, the question papers will be transported to the colleges in GPS-enabled vehicles, under the supervision of the Tahsildar, block education Officer (BEO), and lecturers.
To maintain the integrity of the examination process, students are prohibited from wearing wristwatches. Instead, separate arrangements have been made to display the time. Drinking water facilities have been provided to ensure that students are comfortable during the exams. Each student will undergo thorough verification before being allowed into the examination hall.
Strict measures have been implemented to prevent any form of malpractice. CCTV cameras have been installed in every exam centre and classroom, and the footage will be monitored live from the district administration Office. State-level authorities will also have access to the surveillance, Dr Vidya Kumari added.
