PM Modi is a true Sanatani, his dip in Sangam is a matter of pride: Devkinandan Thakur

Prayagraj, Feb 5 (IANS): 'Kathavachak' Devkinandan Thakur referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a true Sanatani on Wednesday. He also responded to the statement made by Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan.

In a conversation with IANS, Devkinandan Thakur expressed pride over PM Modi taking a dip at the Mahakumbh. He said: "It is a matter of great pride that PM Modi came to take a dip at the Maha Kumbh. For Sanatanis, it is a matter of immense pride because PM Narendra Modi is, first and foremost, a true Sanatani, and only then a Prime Minister."

He continued: "PM Modi has faith in Sanatan. Today, he has shown that when 100 crore Sanatanis are united, the Prime Minister himself has taken a dip. PM Modi is a true Sanatani, and he works for Sanatan."

Regarding Jaya Bachchan's statement, Devkinandan Thakur said: "I don't want to take anyone's name. However, if opposition leaders have something that can purify the Ganga, they should demonstrate such methods. We are ready for that too."

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi took a dip at the holy Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj during the ongoing Mahakumbh.

During the ritual, he held a Rudraksha in his hand and chanted mantras. After dipping in the Ganga, he also offered prayers to ‘Surya’ (Sun). PM Modi shared his thoughts and several photos on social media after the dip.

It is noteworthy that despite the movement of VIPs, devotees have not faced any difficulties in taking a dip at the Sangam during the Mahakumbh, which began on January 13.

As a result, within just 24 days, around 39 crore devotees have taken a sacred dip at the Sangam.
