Bangalore: Mutalik says RSS Activists Hoisted Pak Flag, HDK Seconds Claim
Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)
Bangalore, Jan 6: National president of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Mutalik has denied that those arrested for hoisting Pakistani flag in Sindhagi taluk office belong to his organization. “All of them belong to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), not Sri Ram Sene,” he clarified.
Mutalik was speaking to press persons in the city on Thursday January 5. He accused both Bijapur district superintendent of police and deputy commissioner of being tightlipped about the identities of the arrested persons, in spite of being fully aware that they are activists of Sangh Parivar. He charged these officials of providing false information about their allegiance to Sri Ram Sene.
He challenged the police to provide proof if any about their statement that Rakesh Siddaramaiah Mutt, one of the arrested persons, is the president of students unit of Sri Ram Sene. He clarified that the Sene does not have any students’ wing in the state. Mutalik said he has in his possession records to prove that all the six persons arrested in the above incident belong to Sangh Parivar. He said he will release these documents soon.
Mutalik warned that systematic efforts being made to bring bad name to his organization by politically motivated persons will never to be tolerated.
Meanwhile, former Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, interacting with media persons who met him during his visit to Sorab taluk to participate in the post-funeral religious rituals of JD(S) leader and former chief minister, S Bangarappa held at Samavalli plantation there, accused both BJP and RSS of having a hand in hoisting Pakistani flag at Sindhagi. “Those who hoisted the flag are BJP and RSS activists, not Sri Ram Sene members as being falsely claimed,” he stressed.
He accused BJP of hatching this conspiracy, duly driven with the greed to garner Hindu votes by making them treat Muslim community with suspicion. He felt that BJP should be ashamed of stooping so low to deceive people, and added that BJP has been igniting frictions between Hindus and Muslims for its own selfish ends.
Claiming that he has information that some unseen hands had brought pressure against arresting the culprits in the case, he lashed out at Congress leaders for keeping mum on the issue. “Silence on the part of Congress is strange. It gives rise to suspicion about its role,” he said.
He asked BJP leaders to stop throwing muck at each other, and instead, pave way for election. Kumaraswamy said that recent incidents prove that BJP leaders are prepared to do anything for cornering power. “The people, frustrated over BJP’s misrule, are waiting to throw it out,” he opined.
