Mangaluru, Jan 4: A Swift Dzire CNG car caught fire at Ladyhill on Saturday January 4, marking the ninth vehicle fire incident in the city since September. Kadri fire service swiftly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames.

This incident is part of a growing trend of vehicle fires in the city. Earlier today, a goods tempo also caught fire at Nanthoor, but fortunately, the driver managed to escape unhurt.

In recent months, several vehicles have been engulfed in flames, raising concerns about safety. On September 28, a parked BMW at Adyar was destroyed in a fire, while another BMW caught fire near NITK on September 5. A Maruti 800 was completely burnt on November 10 while waiting at a petrol station at Ladyhill.

Similar incidents include a car gutted near Kadri police station on November 15, a Jeep catching fire at Falnir on November 27, a Hyundai car bursting into flames near City Centre Mall on December 16, and a Volkswagen catching fire at Maryhill on January 2.
