Mangaluru, Jan 4: A general meeting of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) turned chaotic as members of the BJP and Congress engaged in a heated verbal exchange over the drinking water issue.

The opposition members criticized Mayor Manoj and levelled accusations of corruption against the MCC commissioner. MCC member Abdul Ravoof issued a bold challenge, stating that he would retire from membership if the accusations of corruption against the commissioner proved false.

Ravoof raised serious concerns, alleging corruption in the recruitment of MCC officials, mishandling of files pending completion certificates for over 20 years, and misappropriation of members’ funds. He urged the mayor to write to the government, requesting an investigation into the commissioner’s activities.
