Ajman, Dec 26: With a zest to promote sports activities, Body & Soul Health & Spa (Sports Club), Ajman hosted an Invitation Cup 2011 – Cricket Tournament on Friday December 23. The tournament was held in the newly constructed cricket grounds of Body & Soul Health Club & Spa, Ajman.
As many as 11 teams from UAE including the home team Thumbay Eleven participated in the prestigious Invitation Cup 2011.
The teams that participated in the tournament were : Thumbay Eleven- Ajman , Ajman University Cricket - Ajman, Al Weidan Printing LLC- Ajman, Desert King Waterproofing- LLC Dubai, UASC United Arab Shipping Company (SAG) Dubai, Shannan Star Cricket Club – Dubai, Deflex Middle East LLC (FZE), Sajjad Haider Associates- Dubai Creek, Diamond Foams LLC - Ras Al- Khaimah, Oxford Cricket Club - Ras Al khaimah, REC-NIT Regals – Sharjah.
Sajid Khan, a well known cricketer from the cricketing fraternity of UAE and Farook Ali Khan, Technical Head known for his professional and accurate decisions were the umpires of the tournament. Trophies and certificates were awarded to Desert King Waterproofing LLC , Dubai who emerged as winners of the coveted Invitation Cup 2011 while Oxford Cricket Club, Ras Al Khaimah were the runners up of the tournament.
