Mangaluru, Nov 21: A boy who attempted to outrage the modesty of a young girl near Kampadi in Boliyar village, under Konaje police station limits, has been taken into custody by the police.
The incident occurred while the girl was on her way to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The boy, riding a scooter, allegedly touched her inappropriately and attempted to harass her sexually. Locals who were present at the scene intervened and rescued the girl.
The girl reported the incident to office bearers of the Catholic Sabha. Central president Alwyn D’Souza Paneer, vice president of the Ammebala church pastoral committee Robert, and other leaders of the Catholic Sabha arrived at the spot and helped address the situation.

The accused was handed over to the police with the assistance of locals. Konaje police are investigating the matter further.
