Lucknow, Dec 13: 'Stand, Arise and Change' - these were buzzwords during the rally of Congress yuvraj Rahul Gandhi at Gunnaur nearly 200 km from Lucknow on Tuesday December 13.
Promising a sea change in UP, Rahul targetted everyone - BSP, SP and BJP for the plight of the state. "Give me a chance and we will change UP within 10 years," he appealed during his meeting which was held at Mulayam's bastion.
Lashing out at the opposition parties, he claimed that all three non-Congress governments had pushed the state and the people towards unemployment, poverty and various other problems.
'There was jungle raj during Mulayam while BJP incited communal overtones. Mayawati has institutionalised corruption," he said.
Rahul remained highly critical of the Mayawati government stating that she misused central funds. "Nearly 3000 crores in NRHM have been siphoned away, people did not get the desired results," he said.
Firing a fresh salvo Rahul remarked:"Uttar Pradesh mein hathi ghas nahin paise khata hai," (In UP, the elephant feeds not on grass but on money).
Rahul continued with his pro-youth policy stating that youths from UP have to migrate for jobs to other states. "I am also from UP so I am pained at your situation. Give me ten years and the misdeeds of previous governments which have been inflicted during the past 22 years will be rectified," he said.
