Mangaluru: Medical Camp held at Holy Family Church, Omzoor

Mangaluru, Nov 4: A medical camp was held at Holy Family Church, Omzoor, in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College and the Cancer Society of India on November 3.

The camp was inaugurated by Fr William Menezes, the parish priest of Omzoor. The event was jointly organized by Sthree Sanghatan, the health commission, and the family commission.

The programme began with an introduction of the team from Father Muller and the attending doctors. Present at the event were Fr William Menezes, parish priest of Omzoor; Arthur D'Souza, vice president of the parish council; Dafney Lewis, secretary of the parish council; Elroy Saldanha, coordinator of 21 various commissions; and Vinaya Braggs, president of Sthree Sanghatan.

A special talk on cancer awareness was delivered by Dr Elroy Saldanha, a surgical oncologist. The camp primarily focused on cancer screening and general health check-ups for various types of cancer.

The team included 12 doctors and 18 staff members from Father Muller Medical College, along with representatives from the Cancer Society of India. A total of 148 beneficiaries availed themselves of the free health services.
