Mangaluru: IMD sounds yellow alert in 9 districts including DK, Udupi

Mangaluru, Nov 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kodagu and Mangaluru, indicating moderate rain with thunder, on November 3. The IMD has advised against travel due to potential risks to older bridges.

Heavy rains were recorded overnight on Saturday in various parts of Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru city and rural areas, as well as in Hassan, Mandya, Mysuru, and Kodagu districts.

The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Mandya, Mysuru, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, and Bengaluru Rural and city areas on November 3. Light rain is also expected in Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, and Belagavi, while the rest of the districts will likely remain dry.

On November 4, light to moderate rain is expected in Mysuru, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and Shivamogga.

On November 5, light rain is forecast for the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, with dry weather anticipated in the remaining districts.

Dry weather is predicted across all districts of the state on November 6 and 7.

On November 8, light rain is expected in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Kolar, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Rural and city, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, and Tumakuru.
