Ajman to host the biggest sports festival in 2024

Ajman, Oct 31: The Annual Thumbay Schools Sports festival, the first of its kind in the UAE, is set to launch under the patronage of the Ajman Tourism Development Department and the Ajman Private Education Affairs Office, under the visionary leadership of Dr Thumbay Moideen, president and founder of Thumbay Group.

Organized by Body & Soul Health Club, this exciting event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage physical activity among students through the joy of sports.

H E Mahmoud Al Hashimi, director general of the Department of Tourism Development and executive director of the office of Private Education Affairs, stated: “In the Emirate of Ajman, we strive to be at the forefront of cities hosting events that enhance our position as a vital tourist destination that combines culture, sports, and entertainment.

By supporting this sports event, we emphasize our vision to make Ajman a preferred destination for sports tourism that meets the aspirations of all segments of society, including athletes and lovers of physical activities.”

This event is part of our ongoing commitment at the office of Private Education Affairs in Ajman to promote the physical health and psychological well-being of students. In cooperation with Thumbay Group, this sports event highlights the importance of community partnerships in achieving our educational and sports goals.

Through this initiative, we aim to create an integrated educational environment that encompasses both academic and physical aspects. Sports play a crucial role in building generations, developing the mental and physical capabilities of young people, and instilling values such as challenge, teamwork, and perseverance.

Our collaboration with partners enhances our ability to provide the best opportunities for students and the community. We strive to create a platform for positive interaction and communication between students, their families, and teachers, thus integrating education and sports."

Dr Thumbay Moideen said, “We are proud to present the Thumbay Schools Sports Festival, which brings communities together to enjoy sports and promote a healthy lifestyle. Our vision is to motivate young people to adopt a healthy approach and embrace the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.”

The Thumbay Schools Sports Festival will commence on November 2 and will feature a variety of exciting sports events, providing a platform for young athletes from 47 private schools in Ajman to showcase their talents. Body & Soul Health Club is dedicated to developing students to reach competitive levels in sports and encouraging them to consider sports as a viable career path.

Over 10,000 people, including parents and sports enthusiasts, are expected to attend this historic event. This festival marks a milestone as the first private company in the Northern Emirates to host such an initiative for schools.

Participating schools will be recognized and rewarded for their dedication and sportsmanship, celebrating the spirit of competition. This festival is not just about sporting excellence; it is an opportunity for the community to come together to support our youth, foster camaraderie, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
