Mangalore, Dec 6: St Christopher Association of Rosario parish celebrated ‘Hostel Day’ at parish ground on Sunday December 5.
K N Prabhakar, senior manager of Canara Bank, Hoige Bazaar branch, was the chief guest.
He appreciated the social welfare activities of Christopher Association and said that living together is the basic mantra of Indian culture and the hostel serves in deeds and spirit.
St Christopher Association treasurer and Rosario parish priest Fr Stany Goveas stressed what hostel founder late Fr Fred V Pereira used to say - that this hostel is a home away from home for the hostel inmates.
Retired hostel manager Stany D’Souza was felicitated during the programme.
Association secretary Victory presented the annual report. Victor Vaz compered the programme while Harold D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
Hostelite Urban D’Souza spoke about his comfortable stay in the hostel.
The programme concluded with sharing of lunch by hostel inmates and committee members.
