Udupi, Dec 6: The fourth district convention of the CPI (M) was held on Sunday December 4 and Monday December 5.
A massive rally was held from Service Bus Stand to Lions Bhavan, Brahmagiri, at the venue of the public meeting on Monday at 4.30 pm.
Addressing a large gathering of the general public and CPI (M) activists, former MLA G V Sriram Reddy said that the state tops in corruption in the country and a united struggle is essential to curb rampant corruption in state departments. “The support of regional parties is also needed in this regard. The CPI (M) opposes the union government’s policies which are responsible for the hike in prices of essential commodities,” said the former MLA.
