Beltangady, Dec 5: Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes exhibited his talent as he performed various asanas in Yoga at the Valedictory function of 36th National Yoga Championship held at Dharmasthala on Saturday December 3.

Oscar in his Yoga attire performed some of the asanas and also played music on the mouth organ. He further discussed the merits of yoga said it was worthy of being an art and will soon be recommended for addition in Indian Olympic Academy

MP Nalinkumar Kateel was the chief guest and Dharmsthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade presided over the programme. General secretary of Yoga Federation of India Indu Agarwal was also present.

 

MLA Vasanth Bangera, chairperson of Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Association M S Vishwanath, secretary G N Krishnamurthy, Yoga director Shashikant Jain, principal SDM College of Natural Treatment Dr Prashantha Shetty K Prabhu, K Abhayachandra Jain, D Surendra Kumar, Ashok, Blossom Fernandes, R Saraswathi of Mysore and G N Krishnamurthy among others were present.

President of organizing committee D Harshendra Kumar welcomed the gathering and secretary Shantivana Trust B Seetharam delivered the vote of thanks.

    Dear Oscarji,it is great at this age, big phisique and heavy weight, this asanas are quite tuff without practice. Mr.Fernandes must be practicing yoga regularly. Good luck and if other political leaders also follows this is great.
