Kundapur: Head-on collision between two bikes claims life, one seriously injured

Kundapur, Sep 29: A head-on collision between two bikes on the service road claimed the life of one rider on the spot and left another seriously injured late Saturday night near Nagu Palace on the service road in Hangluru, close to Kundapur town.

The deceased has been identified as Shashank Mogaveera (22), a resident of Barekattuve, Balehittu in Kundapur, and an employee of a private company. Shashank is the son of Venkatesh, a painter.

The accident occurred around 11 pm when Shashank was returning home after refueling his bike at a petrol station in Hangluru. He was immediately rushed to KMC Hospital, Manipal, but doctors confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries.

The rider of a Bullet bike and a woman riding pillion were also seriously injured and have been admitted to a private hospital in Manipal. A case has been registered at the Kundapur town traffic police station.
