Seventh day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Davanagere, Sep 5: Seventh day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Diocese of Shimoga, began with rosary led by Legion of Mary at ‘Darshana Degula’ (Apparition place). Then the Novena was led by Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ. Floral homages to Harihara Matha was led by Basilica rector & parish priest Fr George K A.

Fr Veeresh Moras, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Tirthahalli, hoisted the flag of Harihar Matha. Then he offered the Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: ‘Mother Mary is role model for the Teachers’.

In his homily, he explained the role of teachers in educating the children. "Mother Mary is the perfect role model in guiding the children. The role she played as Mother of Jesus is really praise worthy. She knew the plan of God. She walked in faith and never compromised values in life. Her prayer life and faith influenced many around her," he said.

Fr George K A, Fr and Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

After the mass, Fr Mathew CMF led the benediction and priests prayed over the pilgrims.

Rector of the Minor Basilica Fr George K A thanked Fr Veeresh Moras.
