Mangaluru, Sep 4: The Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) held its 22nd poetry recitation competition for children and adults on Sunday, September 1, as part of its annual events at Don Bosco Hall.
The event began with a prayer and the KNS anthem. Floyd D’Mello Cascia, the general secretary of KNS, welcomed the participants and the audience. Melwyn Rodrigues briefed the participants on the rules and wished them success. The event was graced by Kavita Trust president Kishoo Barkur, trustees Titus Noronha and William Pais, competition convener Pinto Vamnajoor, and KNS assistant secretary Cletus Lobo.
In his address, Titus Noronha highlighted that "KNS is a leading organization in the Konkani community, consistently providing a platform for new talent in various cultural activities. For many years, it has conducted poetry recitation competitions in association with the Kavita Trust, which is dedicated to the advancement of Konkani poetry. The Kavita Trust's mission to nurture new poets and promote Konkani poetry is highly appreciated by the community. Today's competition will help participants deepen their understanding of poetry and spread its beauty."
Over 45 participants competed across three categories.
