Bantwal, Jul 31: Although the Netravathi river's flooding has receded, alleviating some concerns, the road connecting Basti Padpuna in Bantwal to Gundinbali via Kanchikarpete has submerged.
This road, which runs along the banks of the Netravathi River, is an old internal road from Panemangalore to Bantwal. The road in Kanchikarpete was damaged and engulfed by the river due to the force of the nearby embankment. It was a major route for those traveling to Bantwal through the old British-era bridge at Panemangalore. During the floods, people stood by this road to observe the rising waters.
Damage in various areas
Landslides have occurred in several places, causing damage to many houses in Puddu village. The revenue department has reported damage in Punacha, Mani, Surikumeru, and Vinnalli as well.
