Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Jul 6: Anita (17), a first-year PU student from a private college in Beltangady and a resident of Bolmanaru in Puduvettu village, succumbed to rat poison ingestion at a private hospital in Mangaluru on July 3.

Anita consumed poison late on the night of June 29. She was initially taken to a private hospital in Ujire on the morning of June 30 and later transferred to Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

In a two-page suicide note, Anita expressed her despair: "I could not score well in the 10th grade. I dreamt of becoming a doctor and took science in PU, but I am struggling with the subjects. I am responsible for my own death. No one else is to blame."

RIP. Poor soul. Many doctors leave medicine after graduation and go into other fields than medicine and are doing well.

RIP!!; unwanted hype is being created about medicine and engineering fields when there are so many other skill and job oriented options available to make a successful career; now, even certain AYUSH courses too are in good demand because of many people reverting to holistic, integrative medicine, nutritionists, etc etc, paramedical courses too offer excellent opportunities! BTW; seeing the state of affairs in the entrance exams of medicine, this course is only meant for the elite, club class, and super rich only considering the extremely high costs, even if one were to get on merit!

How right is it to commit suicide and bring sorrow to one's own family? If not a doctor, she would have done some other profession.
