Bengaluru, Jul 3: Leader of Opposition and senior BJP leader R Ashoka has alleged that the Congress government has started indulging in large-scale corruption one year after coming to power and the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site scam is nothing but the “Congress party’s loot model.”
Ashok along with other BJP leaders tried to lay seize of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s residence in Bengaluru on Wednesday and were taken into custody by the police.
Speaking to media persons, Ashoka alleged that the funds of Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation were transferred to bars and restaurants and jewellery shops in Telangana and claimed that the Schedule Tribes Welfare Minister B Nagendra was forced to resign due to the BJP’s agitations.
The BJP leader said Rs 3,000 crore to 4,000 crore of funds have been looted in the MUDA site scam. As many as 86,000 of applicants belonging to poorer and middle classes have not been provided house sites while chief minister’s wife has been allotted valuable sites in the posh Vijayanagar areas in the guise of allotting sites in the 50:50 ratio for the 3.16 acres of land belonging to Siddaramaiah’s wife in Kesare area.
“Instead of allotting 15 sites as per the norms, 60 valuable sites have been allotted. This is Congress loot model,” he alleged and demanded a CBI probe.
