Mangalore: Lourdes Central School Bids Adieu to First Principal Grace Noronha

Mangalore, Oct 28: The management, staff and students of Lourdes Central School Bejai, gave farewell to the out-going principal Grace Noronha at Bejai Church Hall on Friday October 28.
She served as the first principal of the institution for last 12 years. Presiding over the programme, Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu said that many success stories of the Lourdes Central School is associated with the outgoing principal as she played a vital role in it.
She was known for her good leadership, rapport with the institution, he noted. He also wished for her legacy to continue in school after her retirement and acknowledged her on behalf of Catholic Board of Education.
Philomina Lobo, joint secretary and principal, College of Teachers’ Education, Mangalore was the chief guest. Prof Mathew Ninan, principal, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar was the guest of honour. He said that glory of the school is synonymous with the outgoing principal. Leadership of Grace Noronha made a great influence to the school as it is being designated as the best school bagging various awards and recognitions.
Dr Victor Machado, manager, LCS and Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves (new principal) also the convener of the day’s programme, PTA president Ivan D’Souza was present.
Grace Noronha was felicitated with garland and citation. Farewell song was sung by teachers and students. In her address, Grace said that she is grateful to the school, Fr Bernard L D’Souza, the founder of the school. She called upon the students to be considerate with fellow students, with society and to be honest with evolving quality of commitment.
Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves welcomed. Shanthi Menezes delivered the vote of thanks.
