Kundapur, Jun 13: The Red Sandalwood tree required for sculpting a new idol of Sri Devi for Katbelthoor Sri Bhadra Mahakali Temple was ceremoniously brought to the temple on June 12 from Shivamogga via Kollur.

Following the Prashnachintane (spiritual consultation) held at the Katbelthu Bhadramahakali Temple, it was decided to create a new idol for the Goddess. Permission was sought from the state government to procure the Red Sandalwood logs stored at the depot of the Shivamogga Forest Office. These logs were handed over to renowned sculptors K Laxminarayana Acharya and Rajagopala Acharya in a ritualistic ceremony.

On June 12, the wooden logs were transported at an auspicious time from Shivamogga through Hosanagara, Nagara, Sampekatte, Kollur, Idoor, Vandse, and Devalkunda. A pooja was performed for the wooden logs at Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple.

The ceremony was attended by the honorary president of the temple renovation committee, former MLA K Gopala Poojary, temple trustee Vittal Shetty, renovation committee president Ananda Shetty, and the residents of Mooru Mane and Mooru village.
