Mangaluru, May 29: In a shocking incident, a Kasargod-based woman admitted initially into a hospital and subsequently into another hospital was raped several times.
As per the police complaint filed by the victim dated May 15, 2024 with Mangaluru east police station, she was admitted into a hospital for treatment of fistula on March 13, 2024. She had then arrived there with an accomplice named Sujith and was accommodated into room number 48 of the hospital. While she was in the hospital, Sujith forced himself on the victim, disrobed her and raped her at about 8 pm on March 16, 2024. Sujith also clicked a few of photos in nude on his mobile phone.
Sujith then showed the victim her nude photos and forced her to accompany her to Mangaluru on April 4. He held her from April 4 to 8 at Mangaluru Maharaja Residency Hotel, threatened her and raped her. The victim was admitted to another hospital for food poisoning on April 8 where she underwent treatment till May 10. Sujith reportedly raped her several times while the victim stayed in the hospital after threatening her and by showing her the photos. He threatened that he would kill her if she informed about the matter to anyone else.
A police case under crime No. 76/24 section 376, 506 and 149 IPC has been filed with the police station.
The accused Sujith K, son of Ravindran Nair, a resident of Kodavalam, Pullur village, Hosadurga taluk, Kerala, has been arrested and produced in the court. Investigations are under way.
